Unhooked + CT scan + SweetViews: 342

All went well today, angel was unhooked of the 5fu, and the ct scan results were negative for anything unusual. what dr. otero noticed has to do with her uterus and the fibroid lining, blah blah blah….i’ll save the drama, anyways, all good, and pretty much what the doctors at swedish fertility clinic told her last november. she is relieved, and will manage it with painkillers once per month.
we had two hours to burn, so angel and i headed up to the 15th floor to visit the nurses. we saw candace, jenny and dana. they were all so happy, and couldn’t believe their eyes at how well angel looked and sounded. i probably forgot to mention before, but angel’s voice is much stronger, and i actually heard a couple of her normal laughs, you know, the good ones that come from the throat, i miss that a lot, but i know we’ll all hear more of it.
it was a bit surreal to be on the 15th floor for so many obvious reasons, but angel was really happy to have done it. she plans to visit (on her own accord ;) in a couple of weeks once robin (her fav night time nurse) starts day shifts.

back at the clinic and once dr. otero noticed that angel was off her oxygen, he exclaimed, “sweet! sweet! sweet!” all smiles, and very happy for her.

we viewed a side-by-side comparison with todays scan vs. the scan from three weeks ago. though the previous scan had the contrast which shows more detail, dr. otero’s trained eye noticed that the tumors were a teeny bit smaller! words can’t explain the excitement. of course, there is so much more fighting ahead, but the smallest of improvements makes this process a bit more bearable.

it was about 4:30 by the time we finished up at VM, the day started at 8am for angel, and she wanted to do more!

lan, pike place market in back

so we headed to cutters at the market and met up with alana and her seattle u classmates to celebrate the end of their quarter, and also to relish in the fact they graduate after the next one! it was a lot of fun, and angel was having fun. she was incognito, and mixed in well with the other diners. she’s been embarrassment at times wearing her oxygen in public. she used to asked me if i was embarrassed by this, i’d say “no”, and then follow with “just tell people that you prefer only the best air, none of this free cheap crap!”

guess what angel is doing right now?
