unhooked and then someViews: 45

angel was unhooked of the 5fu infusion today, and all went smoothly. updated labs, notes, and charts from the last hospital stay went out to swedish and the UW so the doctors are updated on angel’s up and up progress. some issues at hand, since regence is still denying, UW’s accounts called and said they won’t be able to proceed with the second opinion on treatment unless we pay out of pocket. coverage on this won’t start until aug 1st, the nine month grace period if at all due to the pre-existing conditions. another person from accounts will contact me tomorrow to see how we can handle this, perhaps financial aid? the people at swedish didn’t mention anything to me today when i called to reschedule for their opinion next week. but i assume we’ll run into this same issue when we meet. these opinions on treatment options are so important to me, i want the best possible care for angel, no doubt about it. we had a rough morning discussing this. we are so satisfied with the aggressive treatments dr. otero is giving, but the peace of mind, and for the sake of covering our bases so we never ever ever ever feel like we should’ve been more proactive, these second and third treatment opinions are crucial.

i had a busy day otherwise, met a friend for lunch, and picked up a small project, but unfortunately the work from this same place will come to an end soon. tomorrow i hit the pavement again looking for more work. challenging, but always rewarding. i am a hunter, and need to bring home the tofu.

i am also nearly complete with a flyer for the first fundraiser event for angel, email blast and postings in the area on monday, so stay tuned ;)
