FULL FURYViews: 43

last week angel’s misspelling of folfiri made dr. otero laugh, and now i will start referring it as Full Fury. it matches angel’s strength and rage to eradicate these tumors. angel’s treatment yesterday went smoothly, and renae was able to be by her side for the entirety. she now knows what goes on days like this, and long distance conversations about this won’t be so mysterious. angel came home around 6, and ate dinner the minute she settled in. small things like her present appetite lights up my days! angel and renae were more than impressed with dr otero. he even did a double take at angel in the lobby area, and exclaimed how great she looked. angel imitated this look of surprise to me which made me really happy.

i was at home dealing with paperwork getting various information on costs of getting 2nd, and if we had more than two to use. in the case we only had one opinion, we would most likely use that with the UW rather than swedish. but i found out that since these are for treatment opinions and not for surgery, we have an unlimited amount. a little good news to add with the extra good news updates on angel’s labs. all levels great. whites cells were healthy enough for the full fury regime. bili’s up slightly to 2.9, platelets up to 130! (again normal is 150-300) all red counts were normal, and her two AST’s that test for liver enzymes were both normal! angel’s stomach looks so good that i just want to keep rubbing it over and over again. it’s the happy buddha in me or something. i did have some bad news, and will only briefly remark on it, but regence has denied the first phase letter from our lawyer. bummer. the lawyer has been working on the next steps since yesterday.

angel slept for most of the night and woke up this morning with hunger pains, yummy to hear. some yogurt, granola and fruit was a hit. she slept for most of the day, but got her green thumb going and clipped the dead leaves off the plants. i was laughing as i was watching her, because she never did such things before! looks like the full fury does have some good side effects!

i am almost wrapped up with a flyer for angel’s first fundraiser dinner at luigi’s towards the end of the month. i look forward to working it too and exercise my old serving skills. washing dishes is my backup plan in case all fails. i will shoot an email out to everyone i know this friday/monday, and hope the turnout will be generous.

i am at tully’s right now and about to head home soon, i think the shanks are heading over for a belated bday dinner for renae who just turned 100 years old. haha, kidding, 55, but i think she now qualifies for the senior discount coffees at mcdonalds?
