go giants! okay, you must believe me that after my last post about the prediction of the patriots beating the giants, that i truly wanted the giants to win. underdogs rule, and i’ve felt badly for rooting for michael jordan and his types for all these years. anyways, my aunt lyn actually trashed the sh*t out of me about this and even went so far to say that i voted for the un-underdog of dick cheney ;) (HUGE-MONGROSS WINK) anyways, today was a spectacular day. i awoke briefly this morning (i now sleep in the living room to be close to angel’s occupation of her new snazzy hospital bed dig) hearing sticky plastic sounds. i thought out loud that i said saibot (ours, i mean, angel’s dirty fat cat) was chewing on plastic bags again. angel said she was texting (i find out later in the day she was texting toni and amber at 6:30 in the morning! this gave me warm thoughts of a little girl on christmas morning, too excited and awake anticipating what the new day will bring) and the snap of the plastic keypad was culprit. i find out later that angel made herself some breakfast, and around 11:30 she dropped the appetite hint of ‘i feel an appetite for a fried egg sandwich.’ renae got going and started this up for her. eating is a blessing when it comes on, and supplying her demand is easy as organic cake.
angel and renae headed off to the oncology clinic for another white blood cell booster to prep for a full dose of treatment tomorrow. she’ll have the two monoclonal antibody infusions of cetuximab and avastin, and hopefully have the folfiri regime depending if her whites are high enough. angel’s stomach feels so normal, i actually felt her stomach muscles tonight, which i gotta tell ya’all, it’s been a first for some time now;) but jokes aside, she is looking a-okay.
tonight at 9pm, angel got her shot of fondaparinux, the blood thinner. we encouraged renae (a little reluctant at first, needles are scary) to perform this act since her visits out to seattle will be monthly, and the fact of having more people who know how to do this will be better for all. she did a spectacular job, and coaching her for the 15 seconds of the injection was really fun to watch. but at first her shaky hands and her nerves showed a bit as she stuttered in the dose rather than slow and steady. anyways, she’s a pro now, and it’s another job i can add to her repertoire, which includes cleaning, cooking and mother-in-law/son-in-law banter ;)
