this past weekViews: 33

today is day seven in the hospital and malpass thinks she will be ready and stable for discharge tomorrow. i am so ready to leave, and angel feels comfortable with this plan too. what a week it has been. i really should’ve posted a couple times before this post. i don’t really know where to start. maybe a list will do:

1) bloating and water retention. work on her potassium levels and start diuretics called lasix. angel gained and lost 25+ lbs. of water retention.

2) allergic reaction to blood thinners; heparin, lovenox, lepardxxxxx?. using fondaparanex, which seems to be working and processes through her kidney rather than the liver. they’ll keep an eye on progress of this. malpass and his talk of re-introducing coumdain makes angel nervous, and makes me a little frustrated since he so nonchalantly brushed it off three weeks ago. but possibly a good idea to re-test since it is much cheaper than the fonda.

3) met with an insurance lawyer (a friend of george, of george & julia ;) to figure out the regence insurance situation. he’s taking the case! other than that, i shouldn’t elaborate further. but we are doing a work for trade agreement if the case doesn’t go to trial (redesign web and print work) and contingency if it does go to trial.

4) regence refusing to pay for in-home oxygen until july 08. the sh*t, the fan.

5) angel is getting better day by day, and we really want to get out of here. feeling like we’ve over stayed our welcome.

6) amber and brian in town.

7) seahawks lose to packers.

8) angel’s nurse robin is amazing!

9) our friends are organizing and scheming, helping with paperwork, thinking up fundraisers, applying for financial help, researching non-profits, contacting gov peeps.

10) a lot of laughter, tears, sadness, and high spirits to fight.

11) there is more, i know it, but i am tired now and a nap is in order.
