from our resident toni:

angel is staying in the hospital for one more day. until monday.

between the outpatient people and who they contract with not many people are here on sunday to do all the discharge stuff. she is going home with oxygen and lovenox.
its seem that angel will be staying on the luvenox to stabilze the blood and anticoagulation.

she is going to get a blood transfusion today. her hermaticrate is 28 which they said would be fine but in trying to do chemo on tuesday they want to make sure her tank is full.

they just finished drawing from another set of labs this morning

angel is having a little upper back pain. they think it is referred from the pulmonary edema. they have been monitoring her close. the doctor said she heard a little diminished lung sounds and that there is a little fusion…basically a little fluid between her lungs and lung sac. the last chest xray was on friday and they just took her down to do another, therefore they can compare and keep on top of it.

her ultrasound came back yesterday and they said that the wall of her gallbladder was a little enlarged and she has fluid in her abdominal cavity. (there’s been fluid present since surgery) she asked what she can do about it. they said just keep reporting the pain and that her body should take care of the fluid slowly.

they took her off the antibiotics. they think the low grade fevers are due to the cancer and the pulmonary embolism, that it’s not from the infection or pneumonia.

the respiratory therapist should be in soon to help angel get what she needs for the set up to take oxygen home.

the social worker came in the other day and they need to take care of working on the application. which they will do tomorrow on monday when people are here.
angel filled out an application for charity care and medicade. the big one now is the lovenox to try and cover it and the application is in the process of review. the doc said that the first month is covered and we will go from there.
more will come tomorrow on this.
they also will be going to the house and set up the o2 and go through it with them.

(another update by ben)
after another ultrasound, the doctor officially said she has pneumonia. so for today, she’ll have antibiotics and a watchful eye on her. hope we can safely leave tomorrow.

things aren’t all so bad through the heavy, we’re having plenty of laughs, and some even at the expense of angel ;) she’s funny as ever. here’s a posed pic of her during lunch today. double fisting: veggie burger and pizza from luigi’s (delivered by the man himself, luigi)
