green lake afternoon IIViews: 41

i’m back at revolutions cafe killing time while i wait for angel’s therapy session. a partial walk around green lake, more like four blocks or so. the sun was exercising its rays, and was great to feel. we’ve had multiples days of rain, it feels like the full moon has been the only source of light for some time now. vitamin d does wonders to the senses. although angel was bundled up, the heat felt good. a lot has happened the past two weeks since angel last saw her shrink, and i hope this hour will get a lot more emotions out and things continue to make more sense. i must rewind to the previous appointment at virginia mason. she had her weekly iron infusion, and her nurse carol is by far the best she’s had so far. her words are so comforting, even for me. carol keeps reassuring that the side effects are normal, and not to ignore them. she has pumped angel up with confidence with her gentle and understand speak of this beast. this is the third time carol has assisted angel, and they now farewell with hugs. i was lucky enough to get one of these last week.
so here i am, waiting on design edits for a project i’m working on to prepare a client for macworld. work has been good, outings to tully’s has been a good environment to work, with free wifi too. i read that tully’s pays $50 per month, per store, while starbucks charges patrons $30 per month for their service. too expensive and seems a little greedy. and it’s been reported that they spend countless dollars per month for administration and support matters. seems trivial i guess. anyways, yesterday was angel’s first real day of feeling normal after her treatment. we have to keep in mind that these days are just around the corner from the bad days. she received the same sort of advice from a man who is going through the same diagnosis as she is. a connection from renae’s friend lynn. i forget his name (jeff), but i’m sure i’ll be bringing him up more in the future. all good things though. i think they will both benefit from their conversations. i know i have already.
we planned to have xmas with pete, deneen and zade, but they all have colds, so we might pass since angel’s white blood cell count is low. damn cancer ;). we head to the coast for the week and stay with susan and slick craig. we need this so badly, this is all i’ve been thinking about. it’s our first time away from it all.
angel is done now, so i’ll wrap up and add more later if need be.

have a good holiday, we will enjoy as well

xoxo

ps, we’re back at home and angel just received a blog comment from kris carr, she’s the author of ‘crazy sexy cancer’ and of the documentary. this book has been a savior to angel. the sunshine and angel’s therapy went super well, so this is a little extra icing on the cake!
